A sound experience

Jon Lillo is a curator. A curator of sound. He was only 23 when he started building Made Human Studios on Eglinton West several years ago. He took a local retail store and converted it into a sound experience.

Made Human Studios is unmarked except for the MH symbol above the front door. Once inside the recording studio, your own voice changes. You feel intonations usually lost in the loud hum of regular life. The walls and ceiling are carefully covered with fabric panelling – acoustic sound treatment it’s called. The control room is calibrated against the sound of speakers.

We left our shoes at the front door because their vibrations affect recording. Even the lights are dimmable because your mood affects your tone.  A couch and two stools are plush to help you relax so you can produce your most authentic sounds.

For sound-lovers, musicians, promoters and public figures, this place provides the highest quality recordings for the discerning ear.

Made Human Studios is located at 1714 Eglinton Ave W, just east of Locksley Ave.
