I’ve lived in Oakwood Village for over 10 years. I’m supposed to know this guy very well. But I’ve never met him. Not once.
I’m not saying he’s a bad City councillor, only that I don’t know him. At all.
I’ve never seen him at my door, or at the local library, or at local fairs, or at local stores, or even at local festivals. I mean he may have gone; I’ve just never seen him.
I know he exists because I get his newsletters in the mail.
In the photos of those newsletters, I see that he does go to events, just not around here. Mostly in the eastern part, where there’s mansions, tall trees, and manor lawns.
It’s true, I don’t hang out there, so that could explain why I’ve never met him.
I have seen him once in our area. But only on TV. When the shooting on St.Clair happened. He was there lined up for his turn at the camera.
I wonder if he knows about the local things people here are dealing with. Dangerous intersections. Lack of crosswalks on our busy roads. Bus route issues, and the need for an off-leash area. Dog owners are using school yards and parks to let their dogs loose, putting dog-loving kids at risk.
It’s municipal election time. So, you’ll likely see more of him. Maybe even around here.
